Car Accident Connecticut I 84
Children were injured when a car carrying two adults and six children crashed on Interstate 84 east in Manchester Friday night.
It happened at the exit 60 off-ramp, around 6:30 p.m.
The children ranged in age from 5 months to 9 years old. Two were taken to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The remaining children were also transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for evaluation.
The driver, identified as 35-year-old Norris Jackson of Hartford, was taken to St. Francis with minor injuries. The front seat passenger, identified as 32-year-old Lashonna Chambers, was taken to Hartford Hospital for minor injuries.
State police said all the passengers were wearing seat belts or in booster seats at the time of the crash.
Manchester Fire Battalion Chief Marc Lupacchino said that the SUV went off the exit ramp and rolled over, crashing into the woods.
